Intrepid USA Healthcare Services provides home healthcare for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. The Parkinson’s Disease Management Program works with the patient and the caregiver providing the knowledge and skills to manage a chronic progressive disease process.

Caregiver education plays a large part in the life of a person with Parkinson’s Disease who stays safely in their own home for longer periods of time. We will also provide helpful resources to utilize for support and general learning about the disease and how to manage the disease process.

Nursing will assess for any medical concerns and will concentrate on:

  • Disease process teaching.
  • Nutritional guidelines.
  • Medication teaching and medication management of the disease process.
  • Preventing falls.
  • Overview of ADL’s.
  • Relaxation.
  • Safety in the home.

Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy will assess safety and focus their care on:

  • Environmental safety.
  • Energy conservation techniques.
  • Home exercise program establishment.
  • Home accessibility.
  • Safe transfers.
  • Communication deficits.
  • Cognition issues.
  • Oral exercises.
  • Swallowing deficits.
  • Gait training.
  • Preventing falls.
